Team Description:
Team Dynamobot contains four veterans and one new team member from San Diego California. All of us are homeschooled which allows us to explore our passions more deeply. Two members are competitive pianists and have won competitions in southern California. Two of us are passionate about math and science. One of us is an amazing artist and another of us is an entertaining storyteller and writer. Finally, one of us is a hockey and chess enthusiast. We all have different talents that make out team totally awesome. We love FLL because it means we get to spend time together which is the most important thing because that means we get to have fun. But we also like FLL because we get to learn new things around each challenge. This year, senior solution was very important to us because each of us has grandparents. We got to blend our learning about seniors with learning more about our grandparents. And that is totally awesome!

Brief Submission Description:
For seniors whose hands suffer from stiffness and arthritis, trying to change the hearing aid battery independently can be difficult and frustrating. More importantly, the cost of replacing hearing aid batteries can be expensive. These factors may make seniors to NOT want to wear hearing aids at all which can isolate them from their communities. This is especially a problem among seniors in developing countries where hearing aid batteries are costly and unsustainable. We’ve created the Solar Gale Inductor System to charge a hearing aid. Our system allows hearing aids to be easily charged by tossing them into the Induction box, eliminating the fuss and cost of changing batteries. The rechargeable batteries can be charged using solar and wind energy, minimizing reliance on electricity and making it a sustainable product in developing countries.
