Team Description:
We, Team mindfactory, are a group of 6 youths from Switzerland. We all come from different villages, but know each other from school, family or other research and robotics programs, and meet every Saturday in Baden. There we sometimes even cook and sleep. The fact that we are four boys and two girls brings the right mix in the team, so that even when working hard we always have a lot of fun, and have grown together to a small family, where the elder help the younger ones. Within the team we all have well-defined roles, but also make sure that everybody is involved in all the activities and can support other team members when needed. Our coach is only 18 years old, but has previously been in this team for several years and therefore has lot of experience. The biggest part of fun is the time we spend with other teams. It is exciting to meet other young people with similar interests from other countries, share the tension and cheering during the games, and of course party afterwards.

Brief Submission Description:
Many seniors fear to have an accident at home without anybody noticing it. We wanted to help them with an innovative solution and developed our idea all the way to a functioning device. The "Senior Security System" regularly checks the senior's health conditions by having him deactivate a preset alarm. As soon as the alarm goes off, the senior shall press a red button on the device. In case the senior is not able to press it, having for example fallen or fainted, the device will alert a series of pre-defined emergency numbers. After checking the feasibility of our concept and defining the technical specifications, we designed the wiring diagram and built a working prototype. We did all of this by ourselves, with some coaching from an electronic technicians instructor. We hope that, thanks to our S-cubed, seniors will be able to live longer by themselves. This will improve their quality of life by reducing the need of staying at a nursing home and the associated costs.
