Team Description:
Slightly Different has learned to embrace their inner geekness. We celebrate our differences and appreciate what each member has to offer the team. We love to have FUN and tackle new challenges! We might be young and some of us are small, but we are powerful when we get together. Our team uniform is a composite of different styles. We wear white shirts, fedoras, bow ties and mustaches to our competitions. They are all slightly different from one another, just like us, but together we look GREAT!
We are sixth graders with a variety of interests. Some of us are boys and some are girls. We play soccer, basketball, golf, volleyball, cheer and ski. We participate in a number of clubs in and out of school and play musical instruments. We perform community service. We like to play video games, build Legos and read books. Some of us have been friends forever and some of us are new friends, but now we are all SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT!

Brief Submission Description:
Our goal is to match lonely seniors with lonely dogs during the day.
We will match a senior who lives at home and might be lonely with a dog whose family is away during the day. It wouldn’t be costly for either senior or dog owners. In order to match the right dog owners and seniors, we’ve built a website with a survey for either party to fill out. Once we have that information, we can begin the process to match a dog with a senior.
By participating in our program, the seniors will get daily visits from the family. This will keep them connected with a local family and the relationship could develop into something more. In many cases, the seniors' families move them into a nursing home because they worry about them on their own. With a local family checking on the senior they might be able to stay in their own home longer. By interacting with the dog they will be more active. If they walk the dog in the neighborhood, they will meet other neighbors since dogs draw attention.
