Team Description:
The Owldroids are a unique team of 4 boys and 1 girl from Joshua ISD in Texas. We are all awesome 5th and 6th graders this year. Four of our team members are new to Lego Robotics this year! Our team members didn't really know each other before the season began so we had to get to know each other and come up with a way to work together. We have a great time at our FLL practices and competitions. Our team is very comical but we remember to work hard before we play hard! We show gracious professionalism by helping out teams from our area.
Our senior partner has been an amazing resource for us this year. We were able to use technology to interview several experts in the field. This helped us learn interviewing skills which will benefit us throughout our lives.
This season we learned a lot about problem solving and working together as a team! We are proud of being well-rounded this year in all FLL categories.

Brief Submission Description:
Most amputations in senior citizens with diabetes are very preventable. All the patients need to do is look down at their feet.
Many people with diabetes have a condition called peripheral neuropathy and can’t feel when they get something like a splinter. Instead of pulling out the splinter, they just leave it because they don’t feel it. They leave it and then it gets worse and worse until it is so bad doctors have to amputate. The DHM will take pictures of your foot from every angle using an app on a Galaxy 1 cell phone, which is included with the DHM.
The DHM can take pictures, review and upload them to an Electronic Medical Records system through secure internet connections.
Your doctor can look at the pictures to see if there are any problems that need to be monitored.
People with diabetes need to be able to get their feet checked without going to the doctor. Getting to the doctor is hard for people who can’t drive or afford a car.
