The team enjoyed preparing a skit for their research presentation and they loved to dance at the tournaments while waiting for the Awards Ceremony. They all like to have fun in whatever they do. Brief Submission Description:
This is a smart phone app. that uses the accelerometer, and other hardware available in a hand-held device, to sense the movement of a Senior person while performing an exercise routine prescribed by a physician. The goal of the exercise routine is to improve the Senior's overall balance. The goal of the app is to keep record of the frequency these exercises should be performed at home and the type of exercises the Senior is prescribed to practice. Once the routine has been performed, the results are stored, alog with date and time, on a server account that the physician can access to evaluate the performance of the patient. The App also uses the hardware in the hand-held device to sense if the Senior falls while exercesing, in this case the app responds with a voice-activated command asking to confirm, by voice, if Senior is ok. If there is no response,an emergency number is called. The handheld dev. is strapped to the body of the patiece, most likely a leg or waist.
